Jaat Box Office Collection Day 31: Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda starrer Hindi film Jaat was expected to earn a lot at the box office. It has been a month since Jaat was released in cinemas. And this film has not lived up to those expectations. Jaat is currently earning a little at the box office. But it is not enough to recover the budget invested.
Jaat is currently in the last leg of its box office run. Despite receiving massive support from the audience, it has failed to live up to its expectations. It is facing losses by earning Rs 10 crore less than its budget which is said to be around Rs 100 crore.
Sunny Deol made a comeback on the big screen with director Gopichand Malineni and South Production House (Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory) for the first time. It was expected that this film would prove to be a blockbuster hit for Sunny Deol.
Sunny Deol has given an all-time blockbuster Hindi film Gadar 2 (2023) at the box office, so the same was expected from Jaat.
Jaat received good response during the pre-release promotion. The film was seen as a feast for movie lovers and Sunny Deol fans on the big screen. Despite receiving good response, the film failed to make big money.
According to Koimoi , Jatt has earned an estimated Rs 89.69 crore nett at the Indian box office in its 31-day box office run . The film’s gross collection or earnings including all taxes is Rs 102.83 crore .
Looking at the earnings of the film, you may think that the net collection of Rs 89.69 crore is a good number. But this earning is not enough for Sunny’s film. There are two important reasons for this which you can read below.
The cost or budget of the film is high
It is believed in the film industry that Sunny Deol’s market value has suddenly increased after the spectacular success of 2023’s Gadar 2. After Gadar 2, Sunny’s fans have become more active in the market.
Gadar has a history which has proved to be helpful in making Gadar 2 successful. But this is not the case with Jaat, Jaat is a new story. The sequel factor behind Gadar 2 and the budget was only Rs 75 crores , that is why Gadar 2 got huge success.
The budget of Jaat is said to be more than Gadar 2 by Rs 100 crores . This is the reason why despite a good start, it has failed to earn the desired amount. To recover the budget, Jaat still needs to earn Rs 10.31 crores which is now impossible.
Big competition at the box office
Jaat was released on the box office on 10 April 2025, so it got an open run of only the first 8 days. After this, Akshay Kumar’s film Kesari Chapter 2 entered the box office which was released on 18 April 2025.
Akshay’s courtroom drama overshadowed Sunny’s action, and movie lovers got another great option. It is believed that if Jaat had got the first two weeks free, it could have done better in terms of box office collections.
