The highly anticipated Bollywood film Border 2, starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh, has begun its advance ticket sales on a strong note. With only four days remaining until its theatrical release, early reports indicate that the film’s Day 1 advance bookings have already made waves by surpassing the pre‑sales figures of Kesari Chapter 2. Fans and trade experts are now closely watching to see how the film’s box office journey unfolds.

Advance Booking Day 1: Strong Start

Advance bookings for Border 2 began on January 19, and within a short time, the film recorded a gross of ₹1.94 crore in ticket sales for Day 1, excluding blocked seats. Over 56,000 tickets were sold across more than 5,200 screens nationwide, highlighting strong early interest in the Republic Day‑week release.

At major national cinema chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, about 28,000 tickets were sold, confirming that Border 2 has kicked off its advance booking period with significant momentum.

Comparison With Other Films

Border 2’s early advance booking figures have already eclipsed the final pre‑sales record of Kesari Chapter 2, which stood at approximately ₹1.84 crore. Within the next 24 hours, Border 2 is expected to surpass the opening day pre‑sales of other recent films like Son Of Sardaar 2 and Baaghi 4.

Sunny Deol’s Previous Film and Expectations

Sunny Deol’s last theatrical release, Jaat, had achieved pre‑sales of ₹2.59 crore for its opening day. Border 2 needs an approximate 36% increase from its first day advance booking total to surpass Jaat’s record, a target that trade analysts believe could be achieved before the end of the advance booking period.

What’s Next

With no significant Bollywood competition during the Republic Day release window, industry insiders are optimistic that Border 2 could capitalize on its early advance booking success and emerge as one of the major box office performers of 2026.
