While day 1 saw a historic opening, Coolie kept strong on Independence Day—the film’s second day—thanks to holiday crowds and positive word of mouth. Its India net stands at ₹118.50 crore (₹145 crore gross), and the overseas performance has been phenomenal, with over $13 million (₹110 crore) grossed in two days. This takes Coolie’s worldwide total beyond ₹250 crore in record time.
By smashing past Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly (₹248 crore) and Vidaamuyarchi (₹138 crore), as well as Suriya’s Dragon (₹150 crore), Coolie has become the biggest Tamil hit of 2025. This remarkable achievement underscores Rajinikanth’s enduring star power.
With a minimal dip of just 17% on day two, trade experts believe Coolie may cross ₹400 crore worldwide in its opening weekend. If the upward trend holds, the film could soon challenge Rajinikanth’s own all-time record—₹691 crore from 2.0. The next few days will determine if history is made once again.
