Housefull 5 - Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan
The fifth installment of the popular comedy franchise Housefull, titled Housefull 5, had an impressive run in its initial days after hitting theatres on June 6. The film crossed the ₹100 crore mark within just four days of release. The presence of big stars like Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan, along with the franchise’s fan base, helped the film enjoy a strong opening weekend.
However, the film’s pace seems to be slowing down now. According to a report by Sacnilk, Housefull 5 collected only ₹0.02 crore by 11 AM on its 22nd day. The full-day estimate stands at around ₹0.40 crore.
This drop in collections is being attributed to the release of other major films, which have divided the audience’s attention. Kajol’s Maa and Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa have entered the scene, and Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par is also performing well consistently.
As of 21 days, the film’s total net collection stands at ₹180.69 crore. While the film had a strong start, collections in the second and third weeks remained steady but much lower compared to the opening. Here’s the day-wise breakdown:
While Housefull 5 performed exceptionally well in its opening week, its graph has declined sharply in the third week. Going by the current trend, the film’s box office journey may soon come to an end. However, with over ₹180 crore in collections, it can be considered an above-average performer overall.
Despite a powerful start driven by its brand value and star cast, Housefull 5 seems to be struggling to sustain its momentum over the long run. It now remains to be seen how the film performs on OTT platforms post its theatrical release.
