Akshay Kumar’s comedy entertainer Housefull 5 is nearing the end of its theatrical journey. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film opened strong but couldn’t maintain momentum in the following weeks, largely due to mixed audience feedback.
Produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Housefull 5 had a solid start with ₹127.25 crore in its opening week. It added ₹40.85 crore in the second week and just ₹12.50 crore in the third. The third Thursday contributed only ₹85 lakh, bringing the total to ₹180.60 crore net in India.
The release of Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir Khan, significantly impacted Housefull 5’s box office prospects. With a large chunk of screens shifting to new releases like MAA, F1, and Kannappa, the film has lost much of its visibility in theatres.
Interestingly, Akshay Kumar will also be seen in Kannappa, where he plays the role of Lord Shiva.
Looking at the current box office trends, Housefull 5 is expected to wrap up its theatrical run in India with a net collection of approximately ₹181 crore. For a big-budget, established franchise, this figure translates to a modest performance.
