Vishnu Manchu’s much-awaited film Kannappa is finally hitting theatres tomorrow, i.e., June 27. This mythological action drama has been in the news for quite a while and is now ready to entertain audiences.
One of the film’s biggest highlights is its pan-India star cast, featuring big names from Bollywood, Tollywood, and Mollywood. But the real question is—will this strategy help the film score a massive opening at the box office?

Kannappa is a Telugu mythological action drama directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. The story is written by Vishnu Manchu himself and produced by his father, Mohan Babu.
Although the official budget hasn’t been revealed, reports suggest that nearly ₹200 crore has been spent on this film, making it one of the most expensive Telugu films in recent times.
Ever since the film was announced, Kannappa has remained in the spotlight. However, when the names of the star cameos were revealed, audience interest skyrocketed.
The film features Akshay Kumar (Bollywood), Prabhas (Tollywood), and Mohanlal (Mollywood) in special roles. Their presence is expected to help the film reach audiences across different language regions and significantly boost its Day 1 potential.
As far as promotional content is concerned, the trailer received mixed responses from viewers. It didn’t offer anything particularly new and seemed to follow the typical ‘Baahubali-style’ formula.
However, thanks to the star cast and media interviews, the film has managed to stay in social media discussions.
Kannappa’s buzz is mainly driven by the hype around its special cameos, which could play a key role in pulling crowds on Day 1. Especially in Telugu-speaking states, Prabhas’ presence might ensure a strong footfall. According to trade experts, the film is expected to earn anywhere between ₹17 to ₹20 crore net on its first day in India, with the Telugu version contributing the lion’s share.
If it achieves this figure, it could surpass Nani’s Hit 3 to become the fourth-biggest Tollywood opener of 2025.
Even though the trailer of Kannappa didn’t quite meet expectations, its multi-industry star cast may help it secure a solid start at the box office. The real test, however, will begin after Day 1—when word-of-mouth decides whether the film has the legs to sustain its run.
