Kantara Chapter 1 (2025)
Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 continues its phenomenal box office run, showing no signs of slowing down even during the third week. The film has benefited from Diwali festivities, pulling in massive crowds and maintaining strong collections across all major regions.
On Diwali Tuesday, Kantara Chapter 1 grossed an impressive ₹13.50 crore at the Indian box office, bringing its total domestic collection to ₹620 crore.
In addition to its Indian run, the film has earned ₹108 crore (USD 12.20 million) from overseas markets, pushing its worldwide total to ₹728 crore. This performance places the film firmly among the biggest global blockbusters of the year.
In the third week alone, Kantara Chapter 1 has collected ₹66 crore in just five days. Despite the end of the core Diwali festivities, the film continues to enjoy a post-holiday boost, particularly in its home state, Karnataka, where an additional local holiday has further driven footfalls.
Trade analysts predict that the third-week total could reach ₹88–90 crore, pushing the overall India gross beyond ₹640 crore by Thursday.
If the film maintains this pace, it will soon overtake Chhaava to become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, closing above the ₹700 crore mark. However, the film will still need to sustain its strong hold through the fourth week to achieve that milestone.
| Day/Week | Gross Collection |
|---|---|
| Week One (8 days) | ₹384.50 crore |
| Week Two | ₹169.50 crore |
| 3rd Friday | ₹9.25 crore |
| 3rd Saturday | ₹13.25 crore |
| 3rd Sunday | ₹17.50 crore |
| 3rd Monday | ₹12.50 crore |
| 3rd Tuesday | ₹13.50 crore |
| Total (India) | ₹620.00 crore |
Kantara Chapter 1 made history on Monday by crossing ₹200 crore in Karnataka, becoming one of the few regional-language films to achieve this feat. As of Tuesday, the film’s Karnataka total stands at ₹208 crore, and it is expected to reach ₹215 crore by the end of the week.
Trade experts estimate that the film could even touch ₹250 crore in Karnataka alone, cementing its dominance in the region.
The film continues to perform exceptionally well in other southern territories too. In Tamil Nadu, Kantara Chapter 1 has shown remarkable growth during the Diwali period, now heading towards a ₹70 crore+ finish, on par with blockbuster titles like Pushpa 2 and RRR.
The Hindi dubbed version has also turned out to be a major success, remaining on track to hit ₹200 crore net—an extraordinary achievement for a dubbed release.
| Region | Gross Collection |
|---|---|
| Karnataka | ₹208.00 crore |
| Andhra Pradesh & Telangana | ₹95.50 crore |
| Tamil Nadu | ₹62.75 crore |
| Kerala | ₹52.25 crore |
| Rest of India | ₹201.50 crore |
| Total (India) | ₹620.00 crore |
With consistent growth and sustained audience interest, Kantara Chapter 1 is now on course to cross ₹700 crore in India. If it maintains its current pace through the fourth week, it may not only surpass Chhaava but also secure its place among the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
Rishab Shetty’s compelling storytelling and strong word-of-mouth continue to drive repeat viewership, proving that Kantara Chapter 1 is much more than a regional success—it’s a national phenomenon.
