Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 continues its extraordinary run at the box office. The film, which has been receiving phenomenal word of mouth, is now inching closer to the ₹600 crore milestone globally. After a strong second weekend, it has solidified its position as one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time.

Massive Growth Over Second Weekend

The film witnessed a remarkable surge in collections during its second weekend. On Saturday (Day 10), Kantara Chapter 1 recorded a huge 66% jump in its domestic box office earnings compared to Friday. This sharp rise indicates sustained audience interest and exceptional word of mouth.

On Day 10 alone, the Rishab Shetty directorial earned ₹37 crore net in India, which marks an almost 75% jump from Thursday’s numbers—the final day of its first week. With this, the film’s India total now stands at ₹396.65 crore net (₹476 crore gross) after just 10 days.

Given its momentum, trade experts expect the film to cross ₹40 crore on Sunday, making it one of the strongest second weekends in recent times.

Worldwide Collection Nears ₹600 Crore

According to an official update from Hombale Films, the production house behind Kantara Chapter 1, the film collected ₹509 crore worldwide in its first week. In the next three days, it added another significant chunk, taking its 10-day total to approximately ₹590 crore worldwide.

However, some trade insiders estimate the global tally to be slightly lower, around ₹560 crore, but even then, Kantara Chapter 1 has comfortably entered the list of Top 25 Highest-Grossing Indian Films of All Time. It has surpassed the lifetime business of Tiger Zinda Hai and Dhoom 3 (both around ₹558 crore).

If the higher estimate of ₹590 crore holds true, the film has also beaten major blockbusters like Saiyaara (₹570 crore), Padmaavat (₹585 crore), and Sanju (₹589 crore) — a massive achievement for a regional-origin story that has captured global attention.
