Rishab Shetty’s mythological action drama Kantara Chapter 1 continues its glorious run at the box office. Even after more than a month since release, the film’s performance remains unstoppable. The Kannada blockbuster has already become the highest-grossing film of 2025, both in India and worldwide, and now it’s inching closer to another historic milestone for Kannada cinema.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Kantara Chapter 1 earned ₹1.78 crore on its 39th day across all languages. Despite being in its sixth weekend, the film has shown remarkable stability, witnessing a 32% jump from its sixth Saturday collections of ₹1.35 crore.
After 39 days, the total India net collection stands at ₹618.78 crore, while the gross collection including taxes has reached ₹730.16 crore. With these numbers, Kantara Chapter 1 is now the 8th highest-grossing Indian film of all time in the domestic market. The film is currently eyeing the lifetime collection of Stree 2 (₹627.5 crore) to claim the 7th position.
At the overseas box office, Kantara Chapter 1 has earned ₹110.50 crore gross. When combined with its Indian earnings, the film’s worldwide total stands at ₹840.66 crore gross.
The film is now just ₹9.34 crore away from crossing the ₹850 crore milestone, which would make it only the second Kannada film in history to achieve this, after KGF Chapter 2 (₹1230 crore).
With audiences still turning up in large numbers, Kantara Chapter 1 has cemented its place as one of the most successful Indian films ever made. Rishab Shetty’s masterful direction, cultural depth, and gripping narrative have resonated globally, making this prequel a cinematic triumph.
If the current pace continues, Kantara Chapter 1 will soon become the second Kannada film to enter the ₹850 crore club, marking another monumental achievement for the regional film industry.
