Vijay Deverakonda’s much-awaited action thriller “Kingdom” opened well at the Indian box office, but momentum fizzled out soon after its promising first day. While the opening saw a net collection of ₹17.25 crore in the Telugu market, the film’s earnings dropped sharply in the following days.
Despite high expectations, “Kingdom” did not meet the mark in its Telugu version. Critics offered mixed reviews, and audience feedback was mostly average. While Vijay Deverakonda’s acting received applause, the film’s inconsistent screenplay and weak emotional connect led to its early downfall.
After 19 days in cinemas, the Telugu version of “Kingdom” has netted ₹47.99 crore, according to the latest industry reports. The film is less than ₹2 crore away from the ₹50 crore mark—a key benchmark for Telugu blockbusters. However, current daily earnings are below ₹2 lakh, making it unlikely for the movie to achieve this milestone before ending its theatrical run.
The launch of major releases like “War 2” and “Coolie” led to significant screen loss for “Kingdom,” further reducing its box office numbers. Across all languages, the film has reached ₹51.96 crore net in India, translating to a gross domestic figure of ₹61.31 crore (including GST).
Overseas, “Kingdom” grossed ₹21.25 crore so far. Adding domestic and international collections, the film’s total global box office stands at ₹82.56 crore after 19 days.
With momentum slowing and competition rising, “Kingdom” is set to wrap up its theatrical run soon, narrowly missing the 50 crore milestone in Telugu. Vijay Deverakonda’s performance stands out, but the film couldn’t deliver the box office punch fans had anticipated.
