Dulquer Salmaan’s production Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra continues its impressive run at the global box office, facing competition from Housefull 5. The dark fantasy superhero film starring Kalyani Priyadarshan has made history by becoming the only Malayalam movie to enter the 300 crore club worldwide. With 45 days into its theatrical run, the film is now on the verge of becoming the 7th highest-grossing Indian film of 2025.

According to Sacnilk, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra earned an additional ₹31 lakhs on its 7th Saturday, showing a remarkable growth compared to ₹13 lakhs on the previous day due to weekend footfall. The film’s net earnings in India have now reached ₹155.25 crores.

Made on an estimated budget of ₹30 crores, the film has generated staggering returns of ₹125.25 crores in just 45 days. This makes it the most profitable Malayalam film of 2025 and one of the most lucrative Indian films of the year.

Narrowly Closing In on Housefull 5 Worldwide

Kalyani Priyadarshan’s film has entered the list of the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films of 2025 globally, joining the ranks of Mahavatar Narsimha and Saiyaara. Currently ranked #8, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is just ₹1.63 crore away from surpassing Housefull 5, which concluded its worldwide run with a total gross of ₹304.12 crores.

As of now, the film has collected ₹302.49 crores globally, putting it on the brink of overtaking Akshay Kumar’s comedy-mystery and securing the 7th spot among India’s top earners of the year.
