The fourth installment of the popular adult-comedy franchise Masti, titled Mastiii 4, has completed almost two days in theatres. However, the film is struggling to attract audiences. Negative reviews and poor word-of-mouth have directly affected its box office run, resulting in a disappointing performance so far.
According to Sacnilk, On Saturday, the second day of release, Mastiii 4 earned approximately ₹1.46 crore. The film had opened with ₹2.75 crore on Day 1, and despite it being a weekend, there was no significant jump in collections. Although late-night shows may bring a slight increase, Saturday’s overall performance has remained weak.
With the second day included, the film’s total India net collection stands at ₹4.21 crore. According to reports, Mastiii 4 has been made on a budget of around ₹25 crore. Considering this, the film needs a substantial rise in box office numbers in the coming days to cover its production cost.
The Masti franchise began in 2004 and has enjoyed decent audience support over the years, but the fourth part seems far behind its predecessors in terms of performance.
Mastiii 4 follows the story of three friends—Amar (Riteish Deshmukh), Meet (Vivek Oberoi), and Prem (Aftab Shivdasani)—who feel stuck in their dull, monotonous married lives.
Their friend Kamaraj (Arshad Warsi) enters the picture and reveals that his wife has given him a “Love Visa,” allowing him to spend a week with any woman he chooses.
The trio finds this idea exciting and convinces their wives for similar permission, leading to a series of chaotic and humorous events.
The film also features Nargis Fakhri, Elnaaz Norouzi, Natalia Janoszek and others, adding glamour and new twists to the storyline.
Mastiii 4 now heavily depends on its weekend and early-week performance to gain momentum. Given the current trend, the film faces a tough challenge in reaching a respectable total. Whether it manages to improve or continues its downward trajectory will become clear in the coming days.
