Anurag Basu’s romantic drama Metro In Dino has proved its strength at the box office as it continues to attract audiences even in its third week. Despite facing stiff competition from the new romantic release Saiyaara, the film is moving steadily toward the ₹50 crore mark in India.
Starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan, Metro In Dino explores modern-day urban relationships and emotional complexities. The film has been praised for its soulful music, engaging storytelling, and realistic portrayal of contemporary love.
According to trade estimates, Metro In Dino collected ₹1.26 crore on its 15th day (third Friday), showing only a minor drop despite new releases. With this, the film’s net India collection stands at ₹48.47 crore, while its gross total is ₹57.19 crore.
The biggest competition currently is Saiyaara, a romantic film starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, which opened to ₹21.25 crore on its first day. It is expected to earn more than ₹15 crore on Saturday alone, presenting a serious challenge to Metro In Dino.
While Saiyaara has the freshness of a new release and is gaining popularity quickly, Metro In Dino has retained a niche audience due to its emotional depth and critical acclaim.
