War 2 Hindi Advance Booking Update: Blockbuster Start Expected This Independence Day Weekend
Ayan Mukerji’s much-awaited action entertainer War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, is all set to hit the big screens on 14 August 2025. With just a day left for release, the film’s advance booking numbers suggest a thunderous opening at the box office, especially for its Hindi version.
Strong Advance Booking in Hindi Markets
In the top Indian multiplex chains — PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis — War 2’s Hindi version has already sold 78,000 tickets for the opening day.
If we look at the pan-India count, overall ticket sales for opening day are expected to be in the range of 1.5 to 1.75 lakh tickets. This momentum has set the film up for an opening day collection of ₹30–35 crore net in Hindi alone.
Telugu Version Shows Promise

With strong advance sales and a holiday push, War 2 in Hindi is aiming for ₹50 crore+ net collection on Day 2 itself, provided the audience response is positive.

Initially, trade circles believed War 2 would dominate without much competition, but Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie has performed exceptionally well in some markets, notably in the South and overseas.
However, in core Hindi markets, War 2 is ahead by a considerable margin, recording far stronger advance bookings than Coolie.
International Expectations
Overseas, War 2’s advance bookings are moderate compared to domestic buzz. Trade estimates suggest:
- USD 2.5 million (₹20 crore) opening day overseas
- Around USD 8 million (₹65 crore) opening weekend overseas
The film’s global opening weekend is projected at ₹300–350 crore, while Coolie might touch ₹400 crore worldwide.
