Worldwide Box Office 2025: Dhurandhar Crosses ₹1100 Crore; Here Are the Top 10 Highest Grossers of the Year

As 2025 draws to a close, the Indian film industry is celebrating a monumental year at the box office. From high-octane action sagas to soulful romantic dramas, Indian cinema has made a significant impact globally. Leading the pack is the all-time blockbuster Dhurandhar, which has set new benchmarks for success.

Dhurandhar Rules the Roost with ₹1100 Crore Milestone

The undisputed king of 2025 is Dhurandhar. Driven by extraordinary word-of-mouth and a massive scale, the film has amassed a staggering ₹1140.31 crore gross worldwide in just 26 days. With the film showing no signs of slowing down, trade analysts predict it could comfortably cross the ₹1300 crore mark before ending its theatrical run.

Kantara Chapter 1 and Chhaava Secure Top Spots

The race for the second and third positions was equally intense. Kantara Chapter 1 lived up to its massive pre-release hype, earning ₹845.44 crore globally. Close on its heels is Chhaava, which resonated deeply with audiences, securing the third spot with a blockbuster collection of ₹827.06 crore.

Surprising Entries and Star Power

The year also saw some unexpected winners and steady performers in the Top 5:

  • Saiyaara: This romantic drama emerged as the dark horse of the year, exceeding all expectations to mint ₹570.67 crore.
  • Coolie: Despite receiving mixed reviews, the powerhouse combination of Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj ensured a global collection of ₹516.93 crore.

A Balanced Year for Regional Industries

While Bollywood dominated the list with six films—including War 2, Mahavatar Narsimha, and Housefull 5—other regional industries also marked their presence. Sandalwood (Kantara Chapter 1), Kollywood (Coolie), Mollywood (Lokah Chapter 1), and Tollywood (OG) each contributed one film to the top 10, showcasing the pan-Indian appeal of diverse stories.

The success of 2025 highlights a healthy trend where big-budget spectacles and content-driven dramas both found a place in the hearts (and wallets) of the global audience.
