The much-anticipated box office clash between Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 had fans buzzing on social media. Profitability Concerns
Despite its stronger performance, Coolie faces challenges with profitability due to high acquisition costs. Distributors on average may incur about 20% losses, though producers are expected to emerge with profits. Rajinikanth has secured his fee of ₹150 crore, while director Lokesh Kanagaraj will draw ₹50 crore.
For War 2, the picture looks more troubling. The film is on track to be a significant loss-making venture, particularly for its Andhra distributor. Even Hrithik Roshan is reportedly set to earn less than half of his usual market value due to the weaker-than-expected earnings.
