Welcome to the Jungle — Story & Plot

The story revolves around a corrupt businessman, Sinha, who wants to launder his black money to escape an income tax raid. On his daughter's advice, he decides to finance a fake, big-budget military movie designed to be a box-office flop. Flop directors Dev and Das are hired to orchestrate the scam. They assemble an unlikely cast led by fading superstar Rajiv (Akshay Kumar), along with eccentric characters like Yeda Anna and Romeo. Believing they are shooting a legitimate film, the cast is sent into a dense jungle village named Azadgarh, dressed in military uniforms. However, the location is a real war zone ruled by the ruthless terrorist Zatara (Jackie Shroff). The terrified villagers mistake the actors for the actual Indian Army, while the actors mistake the real violence for scripted movie scenes. Chaos ensues when the crew realizes there are no cameras and they are trapped. The movie takes a serious turn when Rajiv discovers his real-life father—a decorated army veteran—is being held captive by Zatara. In a massive double-role twist, Akshay Kumar also plays the father. Rajiv and his chaotic band of actors must team up with real forces to defeat the terrorists and save the village.
